The Impressionists at Villa Olmo
Como’s picturesque eighteenth-century Villa Olmo which looks on to Lake Como,
will be the venue for the prestigious exhibition “The Impressionists, the Symbolists
and the Avant-garde” with more than 120 masterpieces from the National Gallery
of Belgrade until 15th July 2007.
On display for the first time in Italy, this collection of modern art was formed
between the middle of the nineteenth century and the 1920s by the Serbian prince,
Paul Karadordevic.

Feast of St. John on the Isola Comacina
This is one of the most important events of the summer on Lake Como and every
year attracts thousands of visitors and tourists.
- Saturday 23rd June – 10.30 p.m., Ossuccio - Isola Comacina : a magnificent fireworks display “lights up” the
island whilst the lake is brightly lit by thousands of floating lights on the
water.
- Sunday 24th June - 10.00 a.m., Procession on the water and on boats and Lake gondolas with folklore exhibition.
Possibility of visiting the Romanesque basilica of Sant’ Eufemia, open to the
public on this occasion.
